Vacation is over, and I went straight into a new job. Pizza delivery... so much fun. I went on a couple of deliveries with someone else, watching what they do, and then I was made to go on my own deliveries. I was so nervous, each time I drove I had to calm myself down and say, "it's just pizza. you're not going to be tested on it. I don't think they can be secret shoppers when you deliver to them."
The second day working, they were expecting me to know how to do this and that... I wanted to scream, "Look. I haven't been properly trained on anything yet. Not even delivery." At my other job, you spend about a week going through everything you need to know to start working, and you are trained by a Training Supervisor. I haven't even taken a phone order for pizza.
I hope they are able to schedule me around my full-time job. On Saturday, because I was running overtime on deliveries, I was late to my primary job. Someone at the pizza job, who may be some sort of supervisor or something, asked everyone to write down their availability, so hopefully they will schedule according to that.
Oh yeah..... the café in town? The manager called me to ask if I'd like to work hours there, because one of the regular workers decided to move to Kauai and be a manager at another café there. I'm running out of hours in each day.... Even now, I'm trying to figure out whether I will be able to work enough while school is going on. Hopefully I can keep maybe one day delivering, because the tips are nice.
I hope I will be able to save up.... and I have no clue when I will be able to pick up any financial aid prior to the start of school. I'm also wondering if I have to have an address off campus before I start attending school, or if October will be okay.
Time to go to sleep before I start thinking too much....
